In the beautiful Malahide neighbourhood, this garden underwent a remarkable transformation, driven by our client's vision for sophistication and style. Inspired by the impeccable workmanship of neighbouring properties, they were determined to elevate their outdoor space to new levels of beauty and functionality.
The journey began with the collaboration of a renowned architect, whose expertise in blending form and function laid the groundwork for our garden's makeover. Drawing on the refined tastes of our client, the architect crafted a design blueprint that captured the essence of elegance and modernity.
With the design plan in hand, we took on the challenge of bringing the vision to life.
From the outset, it was clear that this project would be extraordinary. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality were evident in every aspect of the process, from excavation to finishing touches. Each element was carefully considered and expertly executed to ensure a seamless integration of form and function.
A key feature of the garden was the extensive use of Donegal sandstone, renowned for its quality and durability. This versatile material served as the foundation for various hardscape elements, including pathways and seating areas, lending a timeless elegance to our outdoor space.
In addition to Donegal sandstone, Kilkenny limestone was used to create visually appealing transitions between different areas of the garden. Its subtle texture and warm tones added depth and character to our landscape design.
This garden is a real sun trap, and the client wanted various seating areas where they can relax in the sun as it moves around.
Composite decking emerged as an ideal choice for outdoor seating areas, offering durability, aesthetics, and low maintenance. Its weather-resistant properties made it perfect for creating inviting spaces for relaxation and entertainment.
Artificial grass was chosen as the primary ground cover, providing a vibrant backdrop that required minimal upkeep. Its lush green appearance added natural beauty to the garden, creating a welcoming environment for gatherings of family or friends.
At the heart of the garden stands a magnificent Douglas fir pergola, crafted to serve as a focal point and gathering space for friends and family. Its robust construction and timeless design ensure years of enjoyment, while its warm wood tones add warmth to the outdoor setting.
The pergola is home to a poured concrete outdoor kitchen, which houses a gas barbecue and plenty of workspace and storage, making entertaining guests easy and fun.
The burnt timber fence provides a striking contrast to the lush greenery of the garden. Its charred surface, achieved through traditional Japanese techniques, adds a unique texture and visual appeal, while also serving as a natural preservative, meaning no staining or sealing is required by the homeowner.
As the sun sets, carefully placed lighting fixtures illuminates pathways and highlighted key features, creating an enchanting atmosphere that is both inviting and enchanting.
